Workouts built for beginners

Every workout on this site is built on the same principles: full-body training two or three times a week, a balance of pushing and pulling, a sensible amount of chest work, and a clear way to progress. Whether you train in a gym, at home with a few bands, or with nothing but your bodyweight, those principles don't change. Only the exercises do.

We deliberately avoid "shred your chest in 10 minutes" routines. They make for good headlines but poor programs. Chest workouts build the muscle underneath. They don't burn chest fat specifically. For how the two fit together, see building chest muscle while losing fat.

Safety first

Warm up before every session, use a controlled range of motion and stop any exercise that causes sharp or joint pain. Speak with a healthcare professional before starting if you have a heart condition, an injury or symptoms such as chest pain or dizziness during exercise.

A structured first week is included in the free 7-Day Chest Reset Starter Checklist, with a printable beginner workout on Day 3 and a progression session on Day 6.
